Ceramiche Piemme designed by GORDON GUILLAUMIER

One of the most renowned product designers in the world, Gordon Guillaumier set up his own design studio in Milan in 2002, working on product design, design consulting and interior design for a host of internationally renowned companies.

The Bits and Pieces collection developed between the collaboration of Gordon Guillaumier and Ceramiche Piemme. Winner of the ADI Ceramics Design Award for the modularity and originality of decor design.

Gordon Guillaumier has designed the decorative part of this series by taking from the past graphic subjects to be introduced into the industrial process of Piemme, which in turn has purposely developed two new backgrounds with a different and complementary core, such as lava stone (Bits), available in natural and polished versions in five different colour shades, and ground marble (Pieces), available in two different colours in polished versions in accordance with the tradition of this type of material. Gordon Guillaumier, in playing with materials and styles, replaces the marble “tozzetto” with the wood slit, setting it in the Bits backgrounds, while for the polished ground marble background of Pieces, he inserts the marble “tozzetti” for a modern reconstruction of classic terrazzo flooring.
